So I Don't Forget

"No probwem mommy"...

This was Jacks reply when I thanked him for "helping" me carry the vacuum back to the closet.

I just wanted to write it down so I didn't forget. Jacks has the sweetest sing-song voice. I love to listen to him talk.

Unity

Sibling unity that is...
I put Jacks in the corner for his naughtyness. Bennett and Jemma must have felt some compassion for him. They sat staring at him the entire time he was in time out.

Introducting...

Update: Introducing Brogan David Nulph

Well, we don't know baby Nulph's name yet, but...

(I've shared my opinions on the matter. However, I'm not entirly sure my suggestions were appreciated)

HB had her baby early this morning at 2:10 am. He weighed in at 6lb 1oz.

(And surprisingly enough, called me at 2:40 to share the news...I should have been mad for being awakened from a deep slumber, but decided I was too excited to hold a grudge for very long)

Both are healthy and happy. Congrats Heather!

PS. Happy Birthday Jason! Lucky you! I can't think of a better birthday present than a son to share it with.

Tucson

We decided to take a trip down to Tucson last weekend.
2 factors played into my decision to go: Warm weather & warm weather.

Fortunately for us there was also a zoo. Saturday morning after a quick hour detour to Super Target, we found the zoo.

When we arrived, the monkeys' were going crazy, swinging around and making all sorts of loud noises. The boys loved it... Jacks was tempted to join them.

Yes, I did let Bennett stick his head through the railing at the otter exhibit. Fortunate for us he didn't fall in.

We got to the giraffes at just the right time, and were able to feed them.

This picture was just before Bennett chickened out and dropped the biscuit. He was trying to be brave about it. Maybe next time.

Jacks enjoyed dropping the biscuit right as the giraffe was about to take it, therefore making the giraffe try to snap it up like a dog...I don't think he appreciated it.

Yes, I fed the giraffe also. My hand came back slimy with giraffe slobber, but at least I can say I did it. Right?

They also had rhinos at the zoo. However, for some reason the boys didn't care one bit about them, so we moved on quickly.

Bennett decided he should be in charge of the map, so he led us to...

The polar bears. There were 2. This one wouldn't jump into the frigid water...can't say I blame him.

Towards the end we had 3 pouting kids...none of which would look at the camera and smile...

Until I mentioned lunch and a souvenir. That caught someone's attention.

Zoolander

Do you see the similarities?
Last night Bennett yelled to me "Quick Mom! Grab your camera!"
Of course I think either Jacks or Jemma are doing something spectacular, so with camera in hand I race into the room...
Nope. Bennett wanted me to take glamour shots of him and Jacks.

Jemma is usually in shock and awe of her brother's antics...just as much as I am.

Do you ever wonder where your kids came from? I do all the time.

WWWF (Pre - K Style)

Matt talked me into letting Bennett do a wrestling clinic.

First off, let me say that I am opposed to wrestling as a sport, and refused to even consider a child of mine being involved with it. (I don't think a sport should be centered around the weight of a person...Wrestlers have to make weight by either sweating it off, skipping meals, or going on a binging spree...Whew! With that off my chest, I shall continue with this post)

Anyway, Matt conspired against me.

Matt and Bennett came home from home teaching a family last Sunday. The man was helping with a wrestling clinic and his little boy and girl were doing it. So of course Bennett was excited about the prospect of being involved even before he got home. The rest of the night Bennett couldn't even look at me without begging to go wrestle the next day. He's good at the begging thing because I caved. Quickly.

However, Bennett really enjoyed the practices.
And all day today I heard Bennett talking about the medal he was going to get. He would even pantomime how he was going to hold his medal out for pictures.
(I like in the picture above. Bennett's opponent is pausing for a moment to strike a pose for my camera as he's taking down my boy. Also in most of the pictures Bennett is smiling. He enjoyed himself even when being taken down)
Bennett did an excellent job! Even though he was the youngest boy out there, he held his own.
At the end...all that really mattered was that he made some good friends, had fun, and got a medal for good effort.
These two other boys are in our ward and Bennett got to wrestle both of them. They all had a great time.

Waste Management

Potty training... Need I say more?

After the first day, the thought of pulling my hair out strand by strand was more appealing than continuing to help Jacks meet with success.

However, NO. 1... Success!

NO. 2... Not so much.

So to try and excite Jacks into putting NO. 2 in the potty I spent a ridiculous amount of money on a ultra cool squishy potty chair. I made sure to let him know what this chair was meant for and that that alone was cool.

He caught my vision...However, not in the way it was intended.

He thinks it's cool alright

..to wear on his head

..to accessorize with it as a belt

..to use as a recliner while watching Scooby-Doo

You name it, Jacks has used his potty chair for it.

Any suggestions?
