Idaho

Sick, sick, sick...

That's how we've been.

I'm starting to think Idaho doesn't like us anymore. It's been hazardous to our health.

I've had some monster cold/sinus infection for the past few weeks (which I somehow passed onto my mom) (your welcome)

Jacks has strep

Jemma has pink eye (yuck, yuck, yuck)

Bennett is whinny and cranky (is that an illness or a condition?)

For the past month since we've been here someone has been ill.

We were ready to abandon Idaho last week and head to Arizona, but unfortunately I couldn't see out of my right eye or breath well enough to drive us home, so we stayed. Matt then called me to see if I wanted to extend my stay a few more weeks...

He's been deployed to Venice, Louisiana to act as a pharmacist for the BP men who are going out and cleaning the oil spill. He's having a tough time of it too. His housing quarters are on a house boat in the marina. Yesterday afternoon when he called, he was fishing off the dock. Later on him and "the guys" were going alligator hunting. The pharmacy hours were changed from
6am - 8pm to 6am - 2pm and then he just has to carry the cell around in case of an emergency. Rough lot he's been dealt.

We are sad, however, that he won't be here for the 4th. It's our family's favorite holiday.

In between all our illnesses we have managed to get in a little bit of fun, but right now I'm just too lazy to post the pictures. I will... soon....I think.

Lemonade Stand

Bennett and the boy next door, Mason, decided they needed to have a lemonade and cookie stand.

I slaved away making cookies and strawberry lemonade, while they sat in our drive way for 2 hours trying to create some business.

By the end of their venture they each came away with 11 dollars.

I believe I'll make Bennett do it again. 11 dollars an hour is not a bad job. Hopefully next time I'll get a cut of the action for my labors.

Bug Whisper

A few days ago, Bennett had the brilliant idea of having a ladybug farm. He asked me if he could start collecting them. Seeing as how that could keep him busy for hours outside, searching...I quickly gave my approval.

A few minutes later he came back inside.
"I found one!"

Lucky, I thought. How often do you just randomly find a ladybug?

5 minutes later..."I have 3 ladybugs now, Mom! Do you have something for me to put my pets in?"

I handed him a container, slightly confused as to how he was finding all these ladybugs.

A total of 30 minutes later, Bennett had collected 10 ladybugs, and deemed that enough.

A few days later, after we decided to let the ladybugs live free and happy, Bennett turned his pursuits to other creepy crawling things, and he enlisted Jacks help.

They turned over every rock in the yard, until their collection was complete.

I have to say, I wasn't as pleased with the sight of these bugs...I still have nightmares of looking down into Bennett's hand.

Yuck!
