Bug Whisper

A few days ago, Bennett had the brilliant idea of having a ladybug farm. He asked me if he could start collecting them. Seeing as how that could keep him busy for hours outside, searching...I quickly gave my approval.

A few minutes later he came back inside.
"I found one!"

Lucky, I thought. How often do you just randomly find a ladybug?

5 minutes later..."I have 3 ladybugs now, Mom! Do you have something for me to put my pets in?"

I handed him a container, slightly confused as to how he was finding all these ladybugs.

A total of 30 minutes later, Bennett had collected 10 ladybugs, and deemed that enough.

A few days later, after we decided to let the ladybugs live free and happy, Bennett turned his pursuits to other creepy crawling things, and he enlisted Jacks help.

They turned over every rock in the yard, until their collection was complete.

I have to say, I wasn't as pleased with the sight of these bugs...I still have nightmares of looking down into Bennett's hand.

Yuck!
