Treasure Hunt

While in Idaho. Heather decided to call up her pirate friends and have them hide their treasure in her back yard.
The kids had a blast. There were treasure maps, and eye patches, compasses and bandannas, all to transform the little monsters into pirates.
The clues lead them all through the yard, back and forth, until they found the big red X that marked the spot. When they opened their pirate booty, they found candy galore along with some toys and a bubble gun.
Jacks had the best time. I truely believe he thinks he IS a pirate, or that it's his destiny to become one someday.
Thanks HB. You did such a good job, and the kids had soooo much fun. (Actually, so did I!)

Boredom

So what do you do after a death deifying car ride through Zions Canyon?

You take random pictures of yourself and everyone else being bored.

PS. This was our longest trip yet. From start to finish it took us 17 HOURS.

Zions Canyon

On our way home from Idaho we decided to drive through Zions Canyon to connect us to US-89. We had never been that way. I thought we were going to have a lovely scenic drive.
As we entered the park. A huge storm started. Thunder and lighting was hitting the tops of the mountain. The wind picked up and was whipping everything around. The rain was coming down so hard. It was streaming off the cliffs making gigantic waterfalls.
Water was forming rivers down the switch back we were driving up. Mud was spouting off the cliffs onto the road. We couldn't turn around, and couldn't stop, so we kept going.

It was absolutely crazy. I've never been in a storm like that. It was a little scary, but amazing to see.
I don't know if we'll ever choose to go that way again.
