The zoo...AGAIN!

We ventured to the zoo today...AGAIN! It is now Bennett's favorite thing to do. He wakes up every morning asking if we can go back to the zoo. So we did. It was fun. Matt got to go with us this time, which made it alot easier. I stayed with Jacks while he chased Bennett down. Seriously! That boy has issues. He runs away all the time and I have no clue how to curb that. I lecture and threaten, but he just rolls his eyes at me. On a side note from the zoo...Last Saturday I was cleaning the condo, getting it ready for people to come look at. One of my friends came and took Bennett with her family to the neighborhood carnival that was going on down at the church. About 30 minutes later, I heard Bennett banging on the door yelling "MOM!" I let him in, but Holly was nowhere around. He came in all wet, tearing his clothes off, announcing he needed his swim suit. He quickly donned his swimming attire and was ready to race back out the door. I realized right then, that he had probably escaped and ran home by HIMSELF! I got myself and Jacks ready to accompany Bennett back to the carnival and let everyone know where he was. Now that might not seem too scary except for the fact that we live on one of the busiest streets in Idaho Falls. Our church is located on 12th St and Woodruff. Our condo is on Woodruff. When I got down to the garages, Holly was walking up the driveway. She was so relieved to see Bennett. We all walked back to the carnival where everyone kept asking where he had gone. That night when Matt got home we were both thinking about how lucky we were that Bennett had made it home safe and sound. SERIOUSLY! What am I going to do with him!

1st Fishing Trip

Matt took Bennett down to Soda Springs on his very first fishing trip ever. They have a pond down there where they release trout and kids get to go and fish for free. Matt proudly bragged that Bennett caught (or rather helped) catch the two biggest fish of the day. His 1st fish was about 5 lb. and the 2nd was about 6 lb.

This is Matt's dad, Tom, and Bennett catching one of their 1st fish of the day.

If you look closely you can see Bennett's tongue reaching out to the fish. I was so throughly disgusted. I got upset with Matt, but he promised me that was the last time Bennett would be doing that. Immediately after licking the fish, he threw it down. He was aparently just as disgusted that he'd licked the fish also.

A Day At The Zoo

We went to the zoo on the only warm day we've had this entire summer! It was really fun. The boys enjoyed it so much. We went with my friend Holly. She invited us to go with her since her son, Andrew's kindergarten class was going that day.

One of Bennett's favorite parts of the zoo is the ducks and other water fowl. I think that's really odd since he sees ducks all the time, but thats what he wanted to stand and stare at. If you notice the backpack he's wearing. That was my attempt to keep him close at hand. He's a runner. He's one of those kids that are Hudinies (i actually don't know how to spell that so you'll have to sound it out) basically he's an escape artist. I thought he would like the bear backpack and then I wouldn't have to push him around in the stroller. He did like the pack, he just didn't like me holding the leash.

Jacks rode in the stroller through most of the zoo. So he just kind of chilled. He did seem to perk up during the monkeys and the ducks, but that was about it. Poor boy. It seems like he misses out on everything.

The lions and tigers were also a big hit. Bennett and the other boys stood forever growling at them. When it was time to go he got really sad and said in a pouty voice, "See ya later tiger" Then he took off running.

Bennett desperately needs his hair cut, but we even mention the word and he flips out. He throws his arms over his head and immediately starts howling. I've tried bribbing him, forcing him, and (well thats about it) but he still freaks out. What in the world am I suppose to do? I need suggestions. His hair has gone from bad to worse! P.S. On a side note - Jacks is still an angel. He causes me no trouble. ;)

Drama King!

I just had to post these pics for Michelle. I don't think she fully believed me when I said Bennett is all about the facial expressions. The pics were taken one right after the other. They make me laugh every time I look at them.

Lesson Learned

You know that old adage: How many kids does it take to destroy your couch? Well I found out! It takes 3.

I left them in their room playing. I was gone all of 4 minutes. I came back to this! Bennett (I'm sure he's the ring leader in everything) had unzipped the coushion and they all had a hay-day pulling out all the stuffing. They were having so much fun, they didn't even realize I was there until I took the picture. When they noticed, Bennett and Ethan immediately looked scared to death. They knew they were in trouble. All I had to say was "go sit in the chair" and they quietly and with no fuss went and sat down. Unfortunatly, (for me) Jacks didn't even realize I was in the room. He continued to play and have fun, but was startled when I said his name. Even he knew he was being naughty.

Arizona, here we come!

We took a trip down to Pinetop, Arizona to look at a job on the Whiteriver Reservation. Matt's decided to join the army and is packing us all up so he can work for IHS (Indian Health Services). I was really excited at first of the Arizona prospect. Especially after the winter we've had this year. Little did I know! Pinetop's elevation is 7000 ft. (about 1000 higher than here) and Pinetop is the resort/ski town of Arizona. What a bummer!!! The ski hill is only about 20 minutes away from us. I was really looking forward to the no snow, warm all the time thing. However, we have decided to still go, even though I've decided to do some mild grumbling about the weather. The only pictures I took were of the boys at a park we found. The parks up there only have dirt and gravel surrounding them, so Bennett and Jacksen had a fun time getting down and dirty.

Obsessed!

Okay, so now I'm completely obsessed with my blog. I've just recently learned how to use the digital scrapbook pages for my template. Yesterday, I figured it out by playing around with my moms blog. (Because let's face it...I didn't want to mess mine up if I made a wrong move :) ) Now I've changed mine, I'll probably change Michelle's, and if I can, I'm going to get Kim to start one up so that I can play with hers. I know, I know. I really need to get a life!

Addicted to Swimming

Bennett is obsessed with swimming. That's all he wants to do anymore. He's constantly saying,"I wanna go to the swimming poo?" So the other day he ran into his room, rummaged around in his draws, and came out dressed in his swim shorts, along with his top and flip-flops. (P.S. I need to give him the 411 on socks and sandals). Then last night after Matt got home I left to go shopping. When I got home Matt informed me that the only way he could get Bennett to wear his pajamas was to let him wear his swim shorts. I woke Bennett up this morning by taking a picture, but I couldn't miss the photo opp.

I got tagged

Who Do You Love? Matt, Bennett, Jacks, and of course the rest of my fam.
How Long Have You Been Married? 5 years
Who Said I Love You First? Matt did. I started hyperventilating soon after so I don't think he really expected me to say it back anytime soon.
How Long Did you Date? Probably around a year and a half.
Where Did He Propose? The first time was on the Green Belt in Idaho Falls. The second time he just turned to me suddenly and said something like, "So are we going to get married or what?" (The first time I once again started hyperventilating about 2 weeks before the wedding so we thought it best if we posponed getting married for a while)
Who Is Taller? Matt
Who Is Smarter? Matt, that's a no brainer
Who Does The Laundry? This one belongs to me
Who Pays The Bills? Matt confiscated that responsiblility from me (because he is smarter). It also had to do with my lack of knowledge on how to balance a check book
Who Mows The Lawn? If we had one it would probably be Matt. Well I would probably do it to. Maybe.
Who Cooks Dinner? Although Matt promised me he would cook when we were engaged, I have yet to see that happen. So for now it's usually The Olive Garden, Wendy's, Arby's, and on Sundays my mom.
Who Drives? Wow! Once again Matt does. I really do do things around here. I swear!

I tag Holly and Kami
