The Breakers

After a long discussion on where to head after Boston, Rob and Michelle convinced us to go to Rhode Island to look at old mansions. The rest of us weren't as enthusiastic about this excursion, but decided to give it a try. We were all so glad we did!
The Breakers are mansions that were built in the late 1800's or early 1900's. They were all very extravagant. The tours were walking tours that were mostly self guided. You were given a headset to listen to a recorded tour of the mansion. It was funny at first because if you ever took the headset off, it was silent, even with so many people. People were wandering around looking at the ceiling, the walls, art work, all silently in their own bubble.
There really aren't words for how amazing these mansions were and how much money must have gone into these "summer homes"
On this trip you can also see that Heather and I never quite perfected our selfies. Also, I'd like to mention that I really wasn't upset in the pictures of Matt and I in front of the Elms mansion. Matt said I looked angry. But I guess my face just decided not to smile!
The Breakers really was a great stop on our short trip.
